Mercury is a hazardous material per federal document #40 CFR, Parts 261-262, and requires special handling for disposal. Most transducer diaphragms can rupture with age, overpressure or misuse. The advantage of Gentran is the Force Rod system and the elimination of the mercury fill capillary tube. With Gentran, the contamination is eliminated.
